MISSIONSAFRICAIt has been an amazing time. So overwhelmed by the welcome. They have been praying for over a year for us to come not knowing us. When we went to the church yesterday over 150 men and women and children lined the dirt road came out singing to us: “welcome and we celebrate you..”
Sooo much poverty.. Smells and trash all over. Mud shacks.. But yet these people are so joyful.. You can help us complete our mission in Africa!

Tribute to the Original Founder & Visionary of Leap Of Faith Mission in Africa.
Lou Anne Murray 1939-2013.
Lou Anne Murray & Pastor Mashamba
Lou Ann Murray was a strong Christian believer, who positioned herself as a intercessor who had a large heart for Gods and His people. She was a woman of faith and loved Gods word. While attending The Azusa St. Centennial Conference in 2006 in Southern California she met Pastor Alistair Mashamba of Malamulele, South Africa. They soon became friends and this friendship resulted in the founding of Leap Of Faith Mission, initially dedicated to helping Pastor Alistair Machamba and his congregation erect a church in which to meet and worship. Before for her passing she was delighted to get word that the building framework had been done and roofed.
It was over year later that the Board of Leap of Faith Mission voted on and gifted Ian and Elizabeth Hawker LOFM non profit to carry on the vision that Lou Ann had wanted. Lou Ann had become a dear friend of Ian & Elizabeth from the time they met that lasted 5 years. Lou Ann often shared her heart with them and desire to build the church for Pastor Mashamba so that they could be out of the weather. She talked how in America we were blessed with so much that she could attend church and not have to worry about the elements of the weather, but her heart broken for those that did not have that and those less fortunate. Ian & Elizabeth desire to pick up where Lou Ann left off to help Pastor Mashamba and his congregation. A new work must begin now, plans are in the making to go over to South Africa in the next couple of months and meet with Pastor Mashamba to see what must be done next. Keep posted for updates as we look to see Lou Ann's vision completed and much more. She is greatly missed.
"This need, and others have weighted heavy on my heart. Because I have been there in person and have seen exactly what their situation is, I am impressed to do something." -- Lou Ann Murray
Pastor Alistair Mashamba, of Malamulele West Apostolic Faith Mission, a church with ten branches in that area of the country. The Apostolic Faith Mission Malamulele West church meets in a large field and draws people from all around in this area. There is no building and only sometimes a tent (as ten churches share the only one available).
Malamulele AFM grew from the spread of Christianity in South Africa on the arrival of John G. Lake, the pastor who traveled form America in 1908. According to Lake's grandson,"... forty-five minutes into Grandfather's first sermon, one hundred Zulus were filled with the Holy Spirit. These one hundred then went out and started a major revival. The following eight years of ministry in South Africa would see nearly one million people come to God."
The village of Malamulele is located near the northern part of the Kruger National Park (well known as one of the worlds largest game preserves).
